NEi Fusion

easy-to-use, affordable, NASTRAN

NEiFusion provides the best of all worlds for consultants, users new to FEA, small companies, and any engineer who needs professional level FEA at the least cost. While highly affordable, NEiFusion's FEA Modeler and Solver have the key high value features typically found only in professional level engineering analysis software, like, the well regarded Parasolid geometry engine for ease-of-use in model creation, Nastran solvers, a standard in the FEA industry for accuracy and power, wide file sharing and import capabilities with other FEA and 3D CAD software, and an easy migration and upgrade path to more sophisticated analysis capabilities should the need arise.

NEiFusion comes in two configurations: Designer and Analyst.

  • Designer Configuration: this is the lowest price option. The low price is achieved by coupling the FEA Modeler and the NEi Nastran solvers together so that they must be used together, that is, the NEi Nastran solvers cannot be used with any other pre or post processors. If wider level analysis capabilities are ever needed, an upgrade option exists that enables conversion to the Analyst Configuration for unrestricted use of NEi Nastran Solver capabilities with other pre/posts.

  • Analyst Configuration: in this version, the NEi Nastran solvers are independent of the NEiFusion Modeler and are available to work with any other pre/post processors. The Analyst Configuration arrangement is useful in environments where multiple pre/posts may be needed or are in use (e.g.  FEMAP, Patran, HyperMesh, ANSA, and others). Also, the Analyst Configuration includes the NEiNastran Editor. This feature enables additional post processing capabilities, model data editing, and access to real time solution data.

NEiFusion comes with the choice of Basic or Expert solver packages.

  • Basic. This solver suite allows analysis and simulation of Linear Statics, Modal Analysis, Buckling, Prestress, and Steady State Heat Transfer problems.

  • Expert. This solver suite comes with all the analysis types in the Basic package and adds Advanced Dynamics, Nonlinear Analysis, and Transient Heat Transfer.

Demonstration of NEi Fusion

A Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is performed on a simple part to illustrate the working environment of NEi Fusion. First, part geometry is imported from a Parasolid based CAD system. A material is selected from the extensive material library providing the program with the appropriate property values. Solid, shell, and composite elements are available. A solid element is used in this example. Loads and constraint conditions are applied. Meshing is done automatically. A linear analysis is executed. Post processing offers a number of graphic outputs. A color contour plot showing von Mises stresses with deformation is selected to graphically illustrate structural properties in this example.
