Fedem Technology was incorporated on April 14th 1999 as a private limited liability company registered in Norway, with the purpose of developing, marketing and selling the Fedem Simulation Software and related services. The Fedem Simulation Software is built on non-linear structural dynamics theory originally developed during the late 1970s and continued through the 1980s at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. On the basis of this work, a group of individual founders together with SINTEF (Northern Europe’s largest R&D institute), developed a prototype software including graphics and a user interface. The first commercially available version of the software was offered to pilot clients in October 1998 and from that date pro-actively and successfully used on real life engineering applications. |
